Patterns Collected from Places
Mix Media, Sümeyye Yıldız, 2026
A collection of hand-drawn patterns derived from photographs taken across different cities and spaces.
Rather than reproducing surfaces exactly, these drawings reinterpret the visual rhythms, textures, and geometric relationships found in architecture and the built environment. Each pattern begins as an observation captured through photography and is transformed into a simplified graphic study, revealing details that often go unnoticed in everyday experience.
This ongoing series explores pattern as a way of reading places, connecting documentation with drawing, and translating spatial memory into visual language.
