Red Box | one Frame, one Sketch
Sketch, Sümeyye Yıldız, 2025
Red Box is a design piece that frames a sketch as both an object and a narrative. Conceived as part of my exploration into the relationship between drawing and spatial thought, the project transforms a simple frame into a conceptual container.
Concept: The main idea was to emphasize the frame not only as a boundary but as an active participant in the design process. It becomes the structure that gives the sketch presence, context, and permanence. The color red was chosen as the central concept for its ability to draw attention, embody energy, and create a strong visual identity.
Design Process: The project began with my personal connection to sketching, which I regard as the most immediate and authentic step of the design process. Red Box was developed as a way to materialize this connection: the sketch is placed within a frame that elevates it from a process note into a finished design object. Every detail of the frame was considered as part of the storytelling: proportions, materiality, and the role of color.

Red Box is both a product and a statement. It underlines the value of sketching in design thinking while offering a contemporary object that combines narrative, visual identity, and spatial imagination.
